Are you prepared?

Did you make any New Year's resolutions for 2015? Was one of them to create a plan to prepare for an emergency?

Emergencies come in many forms, they can be caused by nature, accidents and man made. It is a good idea to prepare an emergency plan for you and your family. Even preparing a grab and go bag is a step in the right direction.

Experts say that you should be prepared to manage on your own for at least 72 hours. Experience shows that in some cases you may have to survive without power, phone, cell service even gas and water supply for up to a week or longer.

Government of Canada has a very good informative website that everyone should visit. It provides information on the types of emergencies you should be prepared for, how to put together a grab and go kit, how to prepare your home and what to do in case of actual emergency.
